HOW IT WORKS?

HOW TO THINK LIKE A DESIGNER
We start the course by learning how to write and understand a design brief and how techniques such as brainstorming can help kickstart ideas.

HOW TO DESIGN LIKE A DESIGNER
We now learn how and why we should start with design sketches and how to create visuals mood boards to take our ideas to the next level. In this section we also take our first steps into the design application Illustrator.

TURNING IDEAS INTO GRAPHICS
We learn our way around Illustrator, learning what different fonts mean, how to set type, how colour theory works and how to take a sketch on paper and make it into a finished professional logo.

BUILDING A CAMPAIGN
We learn our way around Photoshop and how to create a montage image and designs for business cards. We also learn the skills needed to create mock up visuals for posters and cards.

CREATING GUIDELINES AND FINISHED ARTWORK
We combine our skills in Photoshop and Illustrator to create guidelines for our designs, covering fonts, colour break downs and campaign visuals. We also learn the differences between file formats for web and print and how to create them.
